The British Philatelic Bulletin is a subscription magazine for collectors of UK stamps and includes stamp news, expert comment and inside stories alongside details of Royal Mail’s latest pictorial and definitive stamps. Stamp collectors like their pages on grids; the editor likes visual surprises on the features pages; Royal Mail likes their stamps shown large.
I was approached to help on the final stages for the June 2018 edition and was required to sign a strict confidentiality agreement. My work included page design, revising visual elements to meet author’s amends, preparing files for varnish coating print, checking all images to create print-ready pdfs for the printers and finally checking varnish positions on 64pp printers flat proofs.
