Ambitious about Autism is a national charity for children and young people with autism. They raise awareness and understanding, and campaign for change as well provide specialist education and support through TreeHouse School, The Rise School, Spring School,  Ambitious College and St. John’s College.

This World Autism Acceptance Month 2024 autistic young people will be sharing their advice on how others can help make them feel more accepted in their daily lives. The campaign is called ‘Small changes, big difference’.

The campaign is focusing on three themes: Acceptance at school, acceptance in the workplace and acceptance in everyday life. For each theme, young people have shared their tips for small changes people can do that make a big difference.

I have incorporated figures illustrations, each one representing school environment, workplace, and daily lives. The concept behind each quote was to illustrate individuals holding banners, creating a visual space around the quote. The white space is intentionally maximised to emphasise and make copy stand out more and make it more visually accessible. Purposefully use of a clear handwriting, resembling messages on the white banners. This adds a personal touch on individual quotes.

Autistic young people are more likely to be excluded from school, struggle to feel understood and supported and have lower employment prospects than other disabled people.

We’ve been working with Pyrus and Elisavet since 2018. In that time, she’s helped us to develop and stretch our brand’s visual identity with great results. Ambitious about Autism has a broad audience base ranging from young autistic people, and parents and carers of autistic children to stakeholders, staff and decision-makers. Elisavet’s creative style has helped us produce a range of materials that are true to our brand, engaging and effective across multiple channels - both print and digital. Elisavet is flexible, quick to respond and provides useful insight and advice – just what we need as a relatively small marketing and communications team. A talented and experienced graphic designer, Elisavet has become a great asset and extended member of our team.
