Ambitious about Autism is a national charity for children and young people with autism. They raise awareness and understanding, and campaign for change as well provide specialist education and support through TreeHouse School, Spring School, The Rise School, Ambitious College and St. John’s College.
Ambitious about Autism hosted its first ever post-diagnosis conference in Woolwich, southeast London to discuss how to improve support for autistic young people after they have received a diagnosis. Host of experts representing UCL’s Centre for Research in Autism and Education (CRAE), University College London, University of Bath and Autistica attended, and together with members of the Ambitious Youth Network, shared their personal experiences during a day of learning from each other, collaboration and open dialogue.
Ambitious Youth Network and professionals have also co-designed a new online course “Understanding You, Discovering You” peer support course for autistic young people aged 16-25, to help young people understand autism, explore their autistic identity, develop goals, and equip them with resources, in a guided peer support group. This is for young people who have recently been diagnosed. In parentship with University of Bath, University of York, National Autistic Society and UCL.
Both projects were designed in collaboration with key brand elements, featuring uncomplicated illustrations that stike a balance between simplicithy and professionalism.
